Odyssey Financial & Accounting Solutions was founded in 2022 with a simple mission: to help construction business owners gain the financial clarity and confidence they need to achieve their goals.

Growing up in a family of entrepreneurs - his mother as the third-generation owner of a lumber company and his father self-employed in the golf industry - founder Steven Heintzelman, CPA developed an appreciation for the dedication, sacrifice, and resilience it takes to run a business. Watching firsthand the impact business owners have on their employees, customers, and communities inspired him to build a firm focused on helping them succeed.

Before founding Odyssey in 2022, Steve began his career at Ernst & Young, where he earned his CPA license and worked with organizations ranging from early-stage startups to billion-dollar companies. That experience provided a strong technical foundation in financial reporting, internal controls, and business operations - expertise he now applies to helping construction companies make smarter financial decisions.

Today, Odyssey specializes in serving residential builders, remodelers, and construction businesses. We understand that construction accounting is different. Accurate job costing, work-in-progress reporting, percentage-of-completion accounting, cash flow planning, and project profitability all play a critical role in running a successful construction company.
